It was my wife's birthday dinner and they made us feel very special. My wife had the jumbo shrimp and I had the salmon. So, we tried the crab cake and, honestly, it was fabulous. We were told by Blake, the manager, that they had the best crab cakes in the country. We started out with a half dozen fantastic oysters. From then on the experience was top notch. Finally, the regular hostess arrived and straightened everything out. He got more flustered and asked them to stand to the side. He got flustered and asked us to wait to the side. He was so soft spoken that I could barely understand him. regular front door person was away or something and we spoke with someone who appeared more confused than we were. I will say that we arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation with the intention of sitting at the bar until our table was ready. That part was cool! Overall I found this place okay. The Banana Foster Butter Cake was sweet and delicious they set it on fire with rum. The potatoes were ok, needed a little bit of salt. I ordered au gratin potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Sides are not part of restaurant week they're $5 a piece. I had the fillet mignon and that was a good piece of steak. It might be different if I were to order on a different day. Now maybe because I was there for restaurant week that my soup was like that. Presentation wise, it looked plain: brown orange soup with three lobster pieces. I got the maine lobster bisque, and that was okay. My water was filled without having to ask, which I really do appreciate as other restaurants fail to do that at times, especially when they're busy. She checked in on us on right intervals and was very helpful with her recommendations. I do understand that restaurants get really busy but my dinner, from appetizers to dessert, was almost a 2 hour dinner. Maybe I just came on the wrong time and day, but I was not impress with the waiting period for each of my selection to come out. I came here on a Saturday for restaurant week to check out the place. I'm hoping to be back with friends this coming Friday again. Everything was so good and there was absolutely no room for dessert even though I really really wanted to try a couple of the selections that they had, specifically the bananas Foster or fresh berries. We had the crab fried rice as a side We thought about having the Broccoli and deeney as another side come on but the that may have been too much food for just the two of us. It was not too much, and not enough to lower the 5 star rating. I thought the branzino had a better taste, and since the butterfish was a bit thicker, my husband thought a couple of bites in the center may have been undercooked. They included a little container of horseradish for the cocktail sauce, and most of it was mixed in.delicious! I had the branzino and hubby had the butterfish. It was all very good and the shrimp were huge. We shared a bottle of wine and started out with the gulf shrimp appetizer, the Maine lobster bisque, and the crab and corn chowder. The waiter, Eddie (not the owner haha), was really nice. We walked right in and were seated almost immediately, despite the obviously busy night. The restaurant is on a busy corner, but the valet was right there, waiting. It was a Friday during Lent, so we were looking for seafood, and Eddie B's had a good selection. My husband and I had a last minute free evening and I was able to find reservations for 2.
